It was narrated that Satan, may God's curse be upon him, said.
To Moses, son of Imran.
May the blessings of God be upon our Prophet and upon him.
Do not be alone with a woman who has no mahram.
So I will be the third with you two.
And do not judge, so I will take from you.
And if you intend to give charity, hasten to do it.
For if you do not hasten to it
So I have opened for you in that seventy gates to poverty.
I will prevent you by it from the charity.
And it was said concerning the words of God, Exalted and Majestic: Satan promises you poverty.
He urges you to immorality, while Allah promises you forgiveness from Him and bounty.
Or will Satan turn you back to your self?
And your preoccupation with your Lord will make you forget.
And it was said: poverty will befall you when you seek beyond what suffices.
Then you will have what is enough for you.
And you are eager to gather more.
And it is persistent poverty that turns you away from the wealth of sufficiency.
In pursuit of more.
And it is the immediate poverty that leads its owner to severe, everlasting punishment.
And it was said, poverty leads you to spend and to give in seeking the pleasure of God, Glorified and Exalted.
And it is wealth because Allah the Exalted promises you forgiveness and bounty.
Therefore, the servant ought to acknowledge the favors that Allah, the Exalted, has bestowed upon him.
and His kindness to him and His bestowal upon him
And know, servants of God, that God, the Exalted, said
In the decisive revelation, on the tongue of Muhammad, his Messenger, upon him be peace.
And whoever restrains the stinginess of his soul, those are the successful.
And whoever is miserly and stingy is neither spared nor successful.
And know that stinginess is a tree in Hellfire.
And its branches hang down over the world.
And it is the tree of the Devil.
So whoever clung to one of its branches will be led to the Fire.
And likewise, generosity is a tree in Paradise.
And its branches hang down over the world.
So whoever clings to one of its branches will be drawn toward bliss.
Generosity is one of the attributes of the Generous King.
So whoever clings to it has angered the accursed Satan.
The proof of this is that God Almighty has never sent a prophet except that he was generous.
You never saw a righteous servant who was not generous.
He said, Generosity is among the noble qualities of the prophets and the truthful ones.
And it is among the moral qualities of the Lord of the Worlds.
So practice it among yourselves.
O assemblies of believing men and believing women.
O community of Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets.
