And how many phrases circulate on the tongues as an example, which the Quran has refined and improved.
Among them their saying: 'Killing prevents killing' is mentioned in His saying: 'And there is for you in legal retribution [saving of] life.'
And their saying: 'The informer is not like the observer' is mentioned in His saying: 'But so that my heart will be reassured.'
And their saying: 'What you sow, you reap' is mentioned in His saying: 'Whoever does evil will be recompensed for it.'
And their saying: 'Walls have ears' is mentioned in His saying: 'And among you are listeners to them.'
And their saying: 'Moderation is the best remedy' is mentioned in His saying: 'And eat and drink, but be not excessive.'
And their saying: 'Beware of the evil of the one you did good to' is mentioned in His saying: 'And they resented it only because Allah and His Messenger had enriched them from His bounty.'
And their saying: 'Whoever is ignorant of something, opposes it' is mentioned in His saying: 'But they denied that which they did not encompass in knowledge, and when they have not been guided by it, they will say: This is an ancient falsehood.'
And their saying: 'The best of matters is its middle' is mentioned in His saying: 'And do not make your hand chained to your neck, nor open it completely.'
And their saying: 'Whoever supports a tyrant, Allah will empower him against them' is mentioned in His saying: 'He has decreed that whoever takes him as an ally, He will misguide him.'
And their saying: 'As soon as it ripens, it spoils' is mentioned in His saying: 'And gave a little, then withheld.'
And their saying: 'A snake gives birth only to a snake' is mentioned in His saying: 'And they will not give birth except to a disobedient, disbeliever.'
