Health as a Blessing

adh-Dhahabi, al-Ṭibb al-Nabawī. Ḥadīth. Advanced.

The English is machine-translated. The audio uses AI voices.

Health is a physical state where actions are sound.

Well-being is the best blessing God granted to man after Islam.

As one cannot conduct oneself well and perform God's obedience without it.

And there is nothing like it, so let the servant be thankful and not ungrateful.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Two blessings which many people are deceived about are health and free time.

Narrated by Bukhari.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Indeed, God has servants who He spares from killing and illness.

He keeps them alive in well-being,

...and causes them to die in well-being,

...and grants them the ranks of martyrs.

And Abu Darda said:

I said, O Messenger of God, being well and grateful is more beloved to me than being tested and patient.

So the Messenger of God (peace be upon him) said: And the Messenger of God loves well-being with you.

Narrated by Tirmidhi.

The Messenger of God (peace be upon him) said: Whoever wakes up healthy in his body, secure in his dwelling, having his day's provision, it is as if the world was gathered for him.
