The signs of the Qur'an were inscribed in their hearts, so they do not know them.
And his sanctuaries were concealed from them, so they do not inhabit them.
And his banners and standards fell from their hands, so they do not raise them.
And his bright stars faded from the horizons of their souls, so for that they do not love them.
And his sun was eclipsed when the darkness of their opinions gathered and was sealed, so they do not see it.
They stripped the revelatory texts of the authority of truth,
And they removed it from the guardianship of certainty.
And they launched raids of false interpretations against it.
So their armies continue to send out ambush after ambush against it,
A visitation came upon them, the arrival of the guest among mean-spirited people.
So they treated her without the reverence and honor that befit her,
And they received her from afar,
But by pushing at her chest and hindquarters.
And they said: What right of passage do you have with us?
And if it must be, then as an expedient.
They lowered the texts to the status of the caliph in this age.
He has the mint and the sermon, but he has no binding ruling or authority.
Among them, the one who holds fast to the Book and the Sunnah is a follower of apparent meanings.
He is diminished; his share of reason is small.
And the person who follows and copies the opinions that contradict and clash with each other,
And to them, flimsy, crumbling ideas are considered excellent and acceptable.
And those who follow the Book and the prophetic tradition,
Those who give its texts precedence over other than it are ignorant people; they have defective people.
By God, they were deprived of attainment.
Because of their deviation from the method of revelation,
and their neglect of the fundamentals,
And they clung to outward things that had no inner substance.
So the very thing they had been most eager for betrayed them.
And its ties were cut off from them at the very time they needed it most.
Until what is in the graves is scattered,
And what was in the hearts was made manifest.
And for every people, the outcome they had attained was made clear,
And the reality of what they had believed was revealed to them.
And they came upon what they had sent forth.
And it fell into their hands at the harvest, when they saw the yield of what they had sown.
O, what intense regret when the one whose efforts are nullified witnesses his striving and his toil scattered like dust.
And how great is the calamity when the dazzling flashes of his hopes become clear and he is deceived.
And his hopes are false and deceptive.
So what will become of someone whose inner self has embraced innovation, passions, and stubborn partisanship toward opinions about his Lord on the Day when secrets are exposed?
And what excuse will the one who casts the two revelations behind his back have on a day when excuses will not benefit the wrongdoers?
Does the one who turns away from the Book of his Lord and from the practice of His Messenger think that he will be saved from his Lord by the opinions of men?
Or will he escape from the punishment of God by many debates and arguments?
And the kinds of arguments and the variety of forms?
Or by gestures and extravagant antics,
and kinds of imagination?
By no means, by God, he truly thought the most false thought.
And his own self made the impossible appear more clearly to him.
