Arabic vocabulary
How to say “I freed” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَعْتَقْتُ عُبَيْدِيَ،
And I freed my little slave.
وَأَعْتَقْتُ — and I freed. The fused wa- is 'and', adding a further good deed to the charity before it, on a past-tense verb with the -tu 'I'. This is a causative-shaped verb meaning 'to set free', so the form itself carries the 'made free' sense, with the freed one named next.
