Arabic vocabulary
How to say “occupy” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
كَانَ يَشْغَلُهَا بِأَوَامِرِ تَتَعَلَّقُ بِعُلُومِهِ،
He occupied it with matters that relate to his knowledge,
يَشْغَلُهَا — occupy it. A present-tense verb with -ha ('it') attached as its object, sitting under the preceding kana, so it reads as habitual past, 'he would fill it'. The -ha points back to the brief moments mentioned earlier, naming what he occupied. Tracking that referent is part of reading the line.
