Arabic vocabulary
How to say “taught you” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَعَلَّمَكَ أَسْمَاءَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ
and taught you the names of all things.
وَعَلَّمَكَ — and taught you. This joins the linking wa- to a past-tense verb with a built-in 'He' subject and a tail, 'you', as object, 'and taught you'. The wa- adds another honor to the list, the suffix names Adam as the one taught, and the next words supply what was taught.
