Arabic vocabulary
How to say “walking” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فكيف رأيت ماشيهم قد وقع ولم يثر،
So how did you see their livestock — it fell and did not rise,
مَاشِيَهُمْ — their walking. This noun is the thing seen and has 'their' fused to its end, pointing back to the people described in the surrounding lines. The attached owner converts a plain noun into 'their...' in one unit, and tracking that the owner is those people, not a nearer word, is part of reading it.
