أَحْوَالُ النَّاسِ فِي الْعِيدِ تَشْبَهُ أَحْوَالَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

People's conditions during Eid resemble their conditions on the Day of Judgment.

تَرَى النَّاسَ فِي يَوْمِ الْعِيدِ يَلْبَسُونَ الْجَدِيدَ وَيَتَطَيَّبُونَ وَيَخْرُجُونَ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى فَرِحِينَ مَسْرُورِينَ

You see people on the day of Eid wearing new clothes, perfuming themselves, and going out to the prayer area happy and joyful.

وَكَذَلِكَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُبْعَثُ النَّاسُ مِنْ قُبُورِهِمْ فَيَقُومُونَ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

Similarly on the Day of Judgment, people will be resurrected from their graves and will stand before the Lord of the worlds.

فَمَنْ كَانَ مُطِيعًا لِلَّهِ خَرَجَ مِنْ قَبْرِهِ مَسْرُورًا مُسْتَبْشِرًا وَوَجْهُهُ أَبْيَضُ نَيِّرٌ

So whoever was obedient to Allah, he will emerge from his grave joyful and glad, with a bright, radiant face.

وَمَنْ كَانَ عَاصِيًا خَرَجَ مِنْ قَبْرِهِ حَزِينًا كَاسِفًا وَوَجْهُهُ أَسْوَدُ مُظْلِمٌ

And whoever was disobedient, he will emerge from his grave sorrowful and gloomy, with a dark, blackened face.

فَانْظُرْ أَيَّ الْحَالَيْنِ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَكُونَ عَلَيْهِ

So consider which of the two conditions you want to be in.

وَالْعَاقِلُ مَنْ يَعْمَلُ لِيَوْمِ الْمَعَادِ فَيَسْتَعِدُّ لَهُ بِالْأَعْمَالِ الصَّالِحَةِ لِيَلْقَى رَبَّهُ وَهُوَ عَنْهُ رَاضٍ

And the wise is the one who works for the Day of Return, preparing for it with righteous deeds, so he meets his Lord and He is pleased with him.

وَلْيَتَذَكَّرْ أَنَّ الدُّنْيَا أَيَّامٌ قَلَائِلُ وَأَنَّ الْآخِرَةَ هِيَ دَارُ الْقَرَارِ

Let him remember that this world is only a few days, and the hereafter is the abode of permanence.

فَمَنْ زَرَعَ فِي هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا طَاعَةً حَصَدَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ الْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّعِيمَ

Whoever planted obedience in this world will harvest paradise and bliss in the hereafter.

وَمَنْ زَرَعَ فِيهَا مَعْصِيَةً حَصَدَ النَّارَ وَالنَّدَمَ

And whoever planted disobedience in it will harvest hellfire and regret.
