By Allah, no enemy came upon you except after the Protector withdrew from you.
So do not think that Satan has overpowered, but rather the Guardian has turned away.
Beware of your soul.
No trial ever befell you except from it.
And do not make peace with it.
By Allah, no one has honored it who has not humiliated it.
And no one has exalted it who has not debased it.
And no one has healed it who has not broken it.
And no one has given it rest who has not exhausted it.
And no one has secured it who has not made it fearful.
And no one has made it rejoice who has not made it sad.
Glory be to Allah.
Your outward appearance is beautified with the garment of piety, while your inward self is ruined.
