And from that is His saying: 'I do not swear by what you see and what you do not see. Indeed, it is the word of a noble Messenger,' to the end of it.
Maqatil said: by what you see of creation and what you do not see of it.
Qatadah said: I swear by all things, what is seen of them and what is not seen.
Al-Kalbi said: you see one thing and do not see another thing.
And this is the most comprehensive oath found in the Qur'an, as it includes the higher and lower realms, this world and the hereafter, and what is seen and what is not seen.
And in that are included all the angels, jinn, humans, the Throne, the Chair, and every creature.
All of these are signs of His power and lordship.
And He, glorified be He, directs the oaths as He directs the verses.
Within this oath, it is implied that everything seen and not seen is a sign and evidence of the truth of His Messenger.
And that what he brought is from Allah.
And it is His word, not the word of a poet, nor a madman, nor a soothsayer.
And whoever reflects on the creations, what he sees of them and what he does not see,
And consider what the Messenger brought with it.
And he directed his thoughts through the courses of creation and command.
It became clear to him that this Qur'an is from Allah.
And that it is His word, and it is the most truthful of speech.
And that it is a firm truth, just as all existing things, what is seen of them and what is not seen, are true.
As Allah the Exalted said: 'By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, indeed, it is the truth just as you are speaking.'
Meaning, if your speech is a reality, which is something you do not dispute or doubt.
