Signs of God's Transcendence

الحمد لله الذي لا يجد الهارب منه وزرًا ولا معاذا،

Praise be to Allah, from whom the fugitive cannot find refuge nor escape.

ولا يرى الملتجي إلى غيره ملاذا،

Nor does the one who seeks shelter in other than Him see refuge.

أبرم القضاء قبل خلق إنفاذا،

He decreed the judgment before creation as enforcement.

وأنفذ العصاة بالتوبة من الخطايا إنقاذا،

And He redeems the disobedient through repentance from sins as salvation.

كل المخلوقات دليل عليه فلا يقال هذا دون هذا،

All creatures are evidence of Him, so it cannot be said that this one is lesser than that one.

وَجَمِيعُهَا مَصْنُوعَةٌ فَلَا يُغَرِّرُ بَعْضُهَا بِإِلَّا ذَا

And all of them are created, so none of them should deceive you except through Him.

خارج عن الكائنات فلا يقال سامتها وحاذى،

He is beyond the entities, so it cannot be said He is equal to them or parallel.

فأحذر التشبيه عياذا بالله عياذا،

So beware of likening, seeking refuge with Allah for protection.

وخف التعطيل فإنه إذا اعتقد آذى المشبهة عبدة الأصنام وإبراهيم يجعلهم جذاذا والمعطلة يدخلون بينكم ويتخللون ثم يتسللون منكم لواذا،

And fear negation, for if it is believed, it harms those who liken, the worshippers of idols, and Ibrahim made them fragments. The deniers infiltrate among you, intermingle and then slip away from you unnoticed.

دعوني من البدع فما ترون لهذا عندي نفاذا،

Leave me alone regarding innovations, for you will find no place for them with me.

اسمعوا وصفي للسلف فإني ألتذ بذكرهم التذاذ

Listen to my description of the predecessors, for I find pleasure in mentioning them.
