Al-Hasan was constantly sorrowful, often weeping, demanding truths of himself,
Away from affectation, not displaying austerity, although it was evident on him,
He did not forsake adornment and did not refrain from wearing fine clothes,
Nor did he avoid dining with people, nor delay in responding to an invitation to food,
And he had a demeanor by which those who had never seen him recognized him.
It is narrated that a man entered Basra, who had not seen Al-Hasan,
He asked about him to Al-Sha'bi, who said: Enter the mosque, may God protect you,
When you see a man, the like of whom you have never seen, that is Al-Hasan.
