We were with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, at a meal where a foreleg was presented to him, which he liked.
He took a bite from it and said, "I am the leader of the people on the Day of Resurrection."
Do you know why that is?
Allah gathers the first and the last in one place,
The onlooker will be able to see all of them, and the caller will be able to make all of them hear, and the sun will come near them, so the people will reach a level of distress and anxiety they cannot bear or endure.
Then the people will say: "Do you not see the state we are in and what has come upon us? Will you not look for someone to intercede with your Lord for us?"
Some of the people will say to others: "Your father Adam," and they will go to him and say: "O Adam, you are the father of humanity. Allah created you with His hand, breathed into you of His spirit, commanded the angels, and they prostrated to you and placed you in Paradise."
Will you not intercede for us with your Lord? Do you not see the state we are in and what has befallen us?
He said: "My Lord has become angry with an anger unlike any anger before or after. He forbade me from the tree, and I disobeyed. Myself, myself, myself! Go to someone else."
Go to Noah, so they go to him and say: "O Noah, you are the first messenger to the people of the earth, and Allah has named you a grateful servant."
Do you not see the state we are in, do you not see what has befallen us? Will you not intercede for us with your Lord?
He says, "My Lord was angry today with an anger like none before it, and none like it will be after it, and indeed there was for me a supplication which I invoked against my people,"
By my soul, by my soul, by my soul, go to someone else.
Go to Abraham, so they go to him and say: "O Abraham, you are the Prophet of Allah and His intimate friend from the people of the earth. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in?"
He will say to them: "My Lord has become angry today with an anger like none before or after. Indeed, I told three lies. Myself, myself, myself! Go to someone else."
Go to Moses, so they go to him and say: "O Moses, you are the Messenger of Allah. Allah favored you with His messages and His words over the people. Intercede for us with your Lord. Do you not see the state we are in?"
He will say: "My Lord has become angry today with an anger like none before or after. Indeed, I killed a person whom I was not commanded to kill. Myself, myself, myself! Go to someone else."
Go to Jesus; then they come to Jesus, then they say, O Jesus, you are the Messenger of God, His word He cast into Mary, and a spirit from Him.
And you spoke to the people in the cradle, "Intercede with your Lord for us; do you not see what we are in?"
Then Jesus will say, "My Lord was angry today with an anger like none before it, and none like it will be after it, and he did not mention any sin."
My self, my self, my self. Go to someone else; go to Muhammad, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
In one narration they come to me and say, "O Muhammad, you are the Messenger of God and the Seal of the Prophets, and your past and future sins have been forgiven."
Intercede with your Lord for us; do you not see what we are in?
So I set out, I come beneath the Throne and fall prostrate before my Lord; then God opens to me some of His praiseworthy attributes.
The praise of him was so excellent, something not granted to anyone before me. Then it is said, O Muhammad, raise your head, ask and you will be given, and intercede and your intercession will be accepted.
I raise my head and say: "My community, my Lord, my community, my Lord."
It will be said: "O Muhammad, admit into Paradise from your community those who will not be held accountable, through the right-hand gate of the gates of Paradise, and they will share with the people in what is beyond that from the other gates."
Then he said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, indeed, the distance between the two panels of the gates of Paradise is as between Mecca and Hajar, or as between Mecca and Busra."
