The Return of Jesus

يَخْرُجُ الدَّجّالُ فِي أُمَّتي فَيَمْكُثُ أَرْبَعِينَ لَا أَدْرِي يَوْمًا أَوْ أَرْبَعِينَ شَهْرًا أَوْ أَرْبَعِينَ عَامًا

The Dajjal will appear in my nation and will remain for forty—I do not know whether days or months or years.

فَيَبْعَثُ اللهُ تَعَالَى عِيسَى بْنَ مَرْيَمَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

Then Allah, the Exalted, will send Jesus, son of Mary, peace be upon him,

فَيَطْلُبُهُ فَيُهْلِكُهُ

He will pursue him and destroy him.

ثُمَّ يَمْكُثُ النَّاسُ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ لَيْسَ بَيْنَ اثْنَيْنِ عَدَاوَةٌ

Then people will remain for seven years without any enmity between two individuals.

ثُمَّ يُرْسِلُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ رِيحًا بَارِدَةً مِنْ قِبَلِ الشَّامِ

Then Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will send a cold wind from the direction of Syria,

فَلَا يَبْقَى عَلَى وَجْهِ الْأَرْضِ أَحَدٌ فِي قَلْبِهِ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ مِنْ خَيْرٍ أَوْ إِيمَانٍ إِلَّا قَبَضَتْهُ

No one will remain on the face of the earth with an atom's weight of goodness or faith in their heart except that the wind will take their soul.

حَتَّى لَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ دَخَلَ فِي كَبِدِ جَبَلٍ لَدَخَلَتْهُ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى تَقْبِضَهُ

Even if one of you were to enter the core of a mountain, it would enter upon him to take his soul.

فَيَبْقَى شِرَارُ النَّاسِ فِي خِفَّةِ الطَّيْرِ

The worst of people will remain, light in behavior like birds,

وَأَحْلَامُ السِّبَاعِ لَا يَعْرِفُونَ مَعْرُوفًا وَلَا يُنْكِرُونَ مُنْكَرًا

with the minds of predators—they neither recognize good nor reject evil,

فَيَتَمَثَّلُ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ

Satan will appear to them,

فَيَقُولُ أَلَا تَسْتَجِيبُونَ

He will say, "Will you not respond?"

فيقولون فما تأمرنا؟

They will say, "What do you command us to do?"

فَيَأْمُرُهُمْ بِعِبَادَةِ الْأَوْثَانِ

He will command them to worship idols.

وَهُمْ فِي ذَلِكَ دَارُ رِزْقِهِمْ حَسَنُ عَيْشِهِمْ

While they are in that state, their provision is flowing and their living is good.

ثُمَّ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ

Then the trumpet will be blown,

فَلَا يَسْمَعُهُ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا أَصْغَى لِيَتًا وَرَفَعَ لِيَتًا

So no one will hear it except that they will tilt one side of their neck and raise the other,

وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ يَسْمَعُهُ رَجُلٌ يَلُوطُ حَوْضَ إِبِلِهِ فَيَصْعَقُ وَيَصْعَقُ النَّاسُ

And the first to hear it will be a man repairing the water basin for his camels, and he will fall unconscious along with the people,

ثُمَّ يُرْسِلُ اللهُ أَوْ قَالَ يُنْزِلُ اللهُ مَطَرًا كَأَنَّهُ الطَّلُّ أَوْ الظِّلُّ

Then Allah will send—or he said: Allah will send down—rain like dew or shade,

فَتُنْبِتُ مِنْهُ أَجْسَادُ النَّاسِ

From it, the bodies of people will grow,

ثُمَّ يُنْفَخُ فِيهِ أُخْرَى فَإِذَا هُمْ قِيَامٌ يَنْظُرُونَ

Then it will be blown into again, and suddenly, they will be standing, looking,

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ هَلُمَّ إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ وَقِفُوهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ مَسْؤُولُونَ

Then it will be said: 'O people, come to your Lord, and stop them, for they will be questioned,'

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ أَخْرِجُوا بَعْثَ النَّارِ فَيُقَالُ مِنْ كَمْ

Then it will be said: 'Bring out the group destined for the Fire.' It will be asked: 'Out of how many?'

فيقال من كل ألف تسعمائة وتسعة وتسعون،

It will be said: 'From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine,'

فَذَلِكَ يَوْمٌ يُجْعَلُ الْوِلْدَانُ شِيبًا

That is the day which will turn children gray-haired,

وَذَلِكَ يَوْمٌ يُكْشَفُ عَنْ سَاقٍ

And that is the day when the Shin will be uncovered,
