فُسِّرَ الرَّجْعُ بِهِ وَمُقَابَلَتُهُ بِصَدْعِ الأَرْضِ عَنِ النَّبَاتِ
The returning was interpreted as such, and its counterpart is the earth's splitting with plants.
وَفُسِّرَ الصَّدْعُ بِالنَّبَاتِ لِأَنَّهُ يَصْدَعُ الأَرْضَ أَيْ يَشُقُّهَا
The splitting was interpreted as the plants, for it splits the earth, meaning it breaks through it.
فَأَقْسَمَ سُبْحَانَهُ بِالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْمَطَرِ وَالأَرْضِ ذَاتِ النَّبَاتِ
Then Allah swore by the sky with its rain and the earth with its plants.
وَكُلٌّ مِنْ ذَلِكَ آيَةٌ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ تَعَالَى الدَّالَّةُ عَلَى رُبُوبِيَّتِهِ
Each of these is a sign of the signs of Allah, indicating His lordship.
وَأَقْسَمَ عَلَى كَوْنِ الْقُرْآنِ حَقًّا وَصِدْقًا فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ وَمَا هُوَ بِالْهَزْلِ
He swore about the Quran being true and truthful, saying 'It is a decisive word and not a jest.'
كَمَا أَقْسَمَ فِي أَوَّلِ السُّورَةِ عَلَى حَالِ الْإِنْسَانِ فِي مَبْدَئِهِ وَمَعَادِهِ
As He swore at the beginning of the surah about the state of man at the beginning and end.
وَالْقَوْلُ الْفَصْلُ هُوَ الَّذِي يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَ الْحَقِّ وَالْبَاطِلِ فَيُمَيِّزُ هَذَا مِنْ هَذَا
The decisive word is that which distinguishes between truth and falsehood, separating one from the other.
