Arabic vocabulary
How to say “aligns” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَوَافَقْتُهُ حِينَ اِسْتَيْقَظَ،
So I came upon him when he woke up,
فَوَافَقْتُهُ — so I met him. A dense chunk: the 'fa-' (so/then) advances the story, fused onto a past verb whose '-tu' means 'I' and whose '-hu' means 'him' as object, giving 'so I met him'. One word holds the connector, the doer and the person met. The verb is built on a stem-pattern of meeting or coinciding with someone.
