Arabic vocabulary
How to say “and an imitation” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَمَيْلًا إِلَى عَادَاتِهِمْ وَتَقْلِيدًا لِكُبَرَائِهِمْ
and a leaning toward their customs and an imitation of their elders.
وَتَقْلِيدًا — and an imitation. A wa- 'and' fused to a verbal noun in the object-style ending, 'and an imitation', a third motive parallel to the leaning and the following. The wa- coordinates it into the list of drivers; the ending marks it as a reason-of-action. It heads its own 'of' phrase completed next.
