Arabic vocabulary
How to say “cave” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَكَانَ يَلْحْقُ بِغَارِ حِرَاءِ
So he would go to the Cave of Hira.
بِغَارِ — to the cave. A preposition fused onto the noun for 'cave', forcing it into the genitive and marking it as the destination he kept reaching. The prefix supplies the 'to/at' relationship that the verb of movement needs.
