Arabic vocabulary
How to say “desires” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَلْيَنْظُرْ الشُّبُهَاتَ وَالشَّهَوَاتَ
And let him look at the doubts and the desires.
وَالشَّهَوَاتَ — and the desires. Here wa- joins a second object, 'the desires', to 'the doubts' under the same command, the plain coordinating 'and' between matched objects. The noun keeps the accusative ending as a second object of the looking. The wa- binds the two hazards into one pair.
