How to say “despaired” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَيْسَ مِنْهَا،
So he despaired of it,
فَأَيْسَ — so he despaired. This is a past-tense verb with its 'he' subject inside, meaning he despaired/gave up. The leading 'fa-' marks it as the next consequence in the story, the man's reaction to losing the mount.
