Arabic vocabulary
How to say “differ” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَتَوَافَقُوا عَلَى مِنهَاجٍ لَمْ يَخْتَلِفْ
And they agreed upon a method that did not differ.
يَخْتَلِفْ — he differs. A present-tense verb forced into its trimmed jussive ending by the 'did not' particle before it. That clipping is the grammatical fingerprint of negated past action, even though the verb itself looks like a present form.
