Arabic vocabulary
How to say “his staff” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَتَخَلَّفْتُ فَنَزَلَ يَحْجُنُهُ بِمِحْجَنِهِ،
So I lagged behind, and he dismounted and struck it with his staff.
بِمِحْجَنِهِ — with his staff. Here bi- is the 'with' of instrument, naming the tool used to do the action: the staff. It governs the following noun into the genitive and also carries an attached -hi ('his') showing whose staff, so the one word bundles 'with his staff'.
