From Jabir ibn Abd Allah, may Allah be pleased with them both, who said:
I was with the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, on an expedition,
Then my camel slowed down and became exhausted.
The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, came up to me, and I, Jabir, said.
So I said, 'Yes'.
He said, "What is the matter with you?"
I said, "My camel slowed down on me and became exhausted."
So I lagged behind, and he dismounted and struck it with his staff.
Then he said, "Mount," so I mounted.
I certainly saw that his hands were kept away from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.
He said, "Did you get married?"
I said, 'Yes.'
He said, "A virgin or previously married?"
I said, rather, a widow.
He said, "Why not a slave-girl who will play with her and with you?"
I said, "I have sisters,"
So I wanted to marry a woman who would gather them.
She combs them and stands over them.
He said, "As for you, you are coming."
So when you arrive, be especially prudent.
Then he said, "Will you sell your camel?"
I said, "Yes."
Then he bought it from me for a small coin.
Then the Messenger of Allah, may Allah send blessings and grant him peace, arrived before me.
And I arrived early in the morning.
So we came to the mosque.
So I found him at the door of the mosque.
He said, "You have just arrived."
I said, "Yes."
He said, "Then leave your camel."
Then enter and perform two units of prayer.
So I entered, then I prayed.
So he ordered Bilal to weigh an ounce for him.
Then Bilal weighed for me.
So it tipped the scale.
So I set out until I turned away.
So he said, "Summon Jabir for me."
I said, 'Now he returns the camel to me.'
And there was not anything more hated to me than it.
He said, "Take your camel, and for you is its price."
