Arabic vocabulary
How to say “history” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَالتَّارِيخَ وَالْحِكَايَاتَ،
and history and stories,
وَالتَّارِيخَ — and history. This token fuses the linking wa- with a definite noun whose al- assimilates to the following sun-letter sound, doubling it. The wa- adds this to a fresh short list of subjects. The al- gives the abstract field its generic sense.
