How to say “leisure” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وفراغك قبل شغلك،
And your free time before you are busy.
وَفَرَاغُكَ — and your leisure. One word carries three jobs at once: the wa- that strings this into the list of contrasts, the noun itself, and the -ka ending that marks it as 'yours'. The noun stands in the subject-like form here as another item being commended to you before its opposite sets in.
