Arabic vocabulary
How to say “limit” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
مَا حَدُّ الْحَمْقِ؟
What is the limit of folly?
حَدُّ — limit. This noun is the head of an 'of' pairing ('limit of...') and also the answer-slot of the question: 'what is the limit of folly?'. As head of the pairing it drops its own article and owns the noun that follows. It pivots the question toward the boundary being asked about.
