Arabic vocabulary
How to say “marry” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَحَبَّبْتُ أَنْ أَتَزَوَّجَ إِمْرَأَةً تَجْمَعُهُنَّ،
So I wanted to marry a woman who would gather them.
أَتَزَوَّجَ — I marry. A present-stem verb fixed in the first person ('I'), and standing right after the particle 'to' it sits in the subjunctive shape that particle forces. So it reads as the goal of the wish, the thing wanted, not something already done.
