How to say “occur” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
خَطَرَتْ لِيْ فِكْرَةٌ
An idea occurred to me.
خَطَرَتْ — it occurred. A past-tense verb in the feminine 'she/it' shape, its ending agreeing with the feminine subject (an idea) that comes after it in the normal verb-before-subject order. That feminine marking is the grammatical link to the subject, signalled before the subject itself appears.
