Arabic vocabulary
How to say “oh” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فوا عجبا كَيفَ صالحته وَتَرَكتنَا
Oh, how astonishing that you reconciled with him and left Us.
فَوَا — so oh. 'Fa-' (so) plus 'wa', here the 'wa' of lament / astonishment that opens a cry of wonder — 'so oh!'. It is not 'and' but an exclamatory particle introducing amazement.
