How to say “preoccupation” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَيُنْسِيكَ اِشْتِغَالُكَ بِرَبِّكَ
And your preoccupation with your Lord will make you forget.
اِشْتِغَالُكَ — your preoccupation. An action-noun, 'preoccupation/being absorbed', with a 'your' fused on its end. It is the doer of 'makes you forget', so it is the subject, named after its verb. As a noun built from a verb, it captures a whole 'being busy with' idea in one word.
