Arabic vocabulary
How to say “satisfy” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
مَا سَأَلْتُهُ إِلَّا لِيَشْبِعَنِي،
I asked him only so that he would satisfy me.
لِيَشْبِعَنِي — so that he would satisfy me. This begins with a purpose marker 'so that / in order to', which puts the following verb into its subjunctive shape and ends with 'me' attached as the object. So the single word covers 'so that he would satisfy me'. The purpose marker is the trigger that changes the verb's ending away from the plain present.
