How to say “seized” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَقَبَضَتْهُ مَلَائِكَةُ الرَّحْمَةِ
Then the angels of mercy seized him.
فَقَبَضَتْهُ — then seized him. This is a past-tense verb with a feminine '-at' ending (agreeing with the plural-of-things subject that follows) and an attached object pronoun 'him' on the end. The leading 'fa-' marks the seizing as the decisive next event, so one word carries the verb, its agreement, and its object together.
