Arabic vocabulary
How to say “seizes it” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَيُدْرِكُهُ الْكَلْبُ فَيَأْخُذُهُ
Then the dog catches up with it and seizes it.
فَيَأْخُذُهُ — then seizes it. The fa- here continues the sequence, 'and then', to the final outcome. The verb is a present-tense 'it seizes' carrying the object -hu ('it') on the end, fusing verb and object. Its subject is still the dog from before; so it reads 'and then seizes it'.
