How to say “sheep” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَخَذَ شَاةً
Then he took a sheep.
شَاةً — a sheep. An indefinite noun, a sheep, serving as the object of 'took', so it takes the object ending; its trailing '-an' marks it indefinite. That '-n' sound is Arabic's end-of-word way of saying 'a/an'. It names the animal taken.
