How to say “so he permitted” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَدَخَلَ فَاسْتَأْذَنَ، فَأَذِنَ لِي،
So he entered, asked permission, and allowed me in.
فَأَذِنَ — so he permitted. Begins with 'so/then'; the past verb means 'permitted', with 'he' built in, and the one permitted is given by the following 'to me'. The connector ties the granting to the asking just before it. Arabic supplies the beneficiary with a separate preposition phrase rather than an attached object.
