Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the two places” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَقَلُّهُمْ أَصْبَرُهُمْ فِي الْمَوْضِعَيْنِ
And the fewest among them are the most patient in both cases.
الْمَوْضِعَيْنِ — the two places. This is the dual, the 'exactly two' form, carried in the noun's own ending rather than by a separate 'two'. It points back to the two situations contrasted throughout the passage. As object of the preposition before it, it takes the genitive ending.
