Arabic vocabulary
How to say “the udder” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَيَقُولُ أَطْيَبُ اللَّبَنَاتِ مَا بَاتَ فِي الضَّرْعِ،
So he says, 'The best portions of milk are that which stayed overnight in the udder.'
الضَّرْعِ — the udder. A noun with al- ('the') marking it as the specific, known place, and its ending is in the governed (genitive) shape because the preposition before it demands that. It serves as the object of 'in', completing the 'in the udder' phrase. Its case is purely a response to the preposition that governs it.
