Arabic vocabulary
ثلاث is how you say “three” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
وَيُشِيرُ إلَى صَدْرِهِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ،
and he pointed to his chest three times.
ثَلَاثَ — three. 'Three', heading an 'of' pairing with 'times' and set in the accusative as 'three times' (how often he pointed). With the small numbers, Arabic puts the counted noun in the plural and genitive after the numeral, the reverse of English order.
