How to say “tied” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَأَوْكَتْ بِهِ الْجِرَابَ،
So she tied the bag with it,
فَأَوْكَتْ — so she tied. The fa- carries the story to its result, 'so', riding on a past verb with the feminine 'she' marked by its -t ending. It chains this to the cutting just done, 'so she tied (it)', the joiner showing consequence.
