Arabic vocabulary
تُرَاهِنْ is how you say “to bet” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
لا تُراهن على حماسٍ متقطّع؛
Do not bet on intermittent enthusiasm;
تُرَاهِنْ — bet. A Form III verb, 'wager / bet,' clipped by the prohibitive 'do not' before it (note the bare ending). 'Do not bet on...'. It takes 'on' next for the thing wagered: fitful enthusiasm — the wrong thing to rely on.
