Arabic vocabulary
How to say “took advantage of” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
فَاسْتَغَلَّ مِحْنَةَ أَبِيهِ،
So he took advantage of his father's hardship,
فَإِسْتَغَلَّ — so he took advantage of. This verb is fronted by an attached 'so/then' that marks consequence: because of the bad character just described, this action followed. The verb itself is past with its 'he' subject inside it. So the joined particle is doing narrative cause-and-effect, not just listing events.
