How to say “tranquility” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَأَلْقَيْنَا سَكِينَةً عَلَيْنَا
And we cast tranquility upon us.
سَكِينَةً — tranquility. This noun is the thing acted upon, the calm cast down, and its -an ending marks it as both indefinite and the direct object of the casting. The ending carries object-hood and 'a, some' together.
