Arabic vocabulary
How to say “try” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ومن لم يصدقني يجرب،
And whoever does not believe me, let him try.
يُجَرِّبْ — let him try. This is the answer of the condition, a present-form verb cut to the jussive precisely because it is the conditional result, giving the sense 'then let him test'. Arabic marks the consequence of a condition by this jussive ending, which here lands as a mild command to go try.
