Arabic vocabulary
How to say “try” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
ومن لم يصدقني يجرب،
and whoever doesn’t believe me should try.
يُجَرِّبْ — should try. This is the ANSWER to the condition, and it stands in the jussive (clipped) mood because it is the result half of 'whoever...' — 'let him try / he should try'. Arabic marks both halves of such a condition with this same clipped form, which is how you know it is the consequence.
