How to say “virtue” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
قال بفضله الأوائل والأواخر
His virtue was acknowledged by the ancients and the moderns.
بِفَضْلِهِ — by his virtue. The 'bi-' marks the means, 'by his virtue', and forces the genitive on the noun; the attached 'his' refers to Hippocrates. It frames his virtue as the grounds on which others acknowledged him.
