How to say “were satiated” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وشكرت حتى سكرت غصون ضمر،
And they expressed gratitude until the branches were satiated,
سَكِرَتْ — were satiated. A past-tense verb with a built-in feminine-plural subject, here the branches. It follows the limit-particle, so it states the result that the previous action ran up against. The internal feminine marker keeps the verb agreeing with its non-human plural doer rather than with anything closer.
