Arabic vocabulary
How to say “were satisfied” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وارتعت إذا سعت فشبعت خيل وحمر،
And they grazed when they moved, so the horses and donkeys were satisfied,
فَشَبِعَتْ — so they were satisfied. The fused front letter marks this as the consequence that follows from the 'when' clause, a 'so/then' link rather than simple addition. The rest is a past-tense verb carrying its feminine-plural subject inside it, so one short word delivers both the discourse connection and a complete 'they were satisfied' event.
