How to say “young” in Arabic, with pronunciation and an example from OpenArabic texts.
وَهُوَ غُلاَمٌ شَابٌّ لَقِنٌ ثَقِيفٌ،
He was a young boy, Laqin of Thaqif.
شَابٌّ — young. An adjective 'young' trailing the noun it describes, the normal Arabic order, and copying that noun's grammar to show they pair up, so it shares the nominative, indefinite shape. It adds a quality to 'a boy', building up the portrait.
