Arabic vocabulary
جَوَابٍ is how you say “a reply” in Arabic. Hear it pronounced and see it used in a real example sentence from classical texts below.
فَأَجَابَتْنِي بِجَوَابٍ فِيهِ جَفَاءٌ،
She answered me with a curt reply.
بِجَوَابٍ — with a reply. This is the preposition bi- ('with') plus a noun, here marking the instrument or manner of the answering: 'with a reply'. The noun is indefinite and in the genitive bi- requires. With this verb of answering, bi- is the natural way to introduce the kind of answer given, which the next words then characterize.
